Philosophy

Background:

Miss All Canadian was formed over thirty seven  years ago by director Joanne Margaret after her involvement for years with the Miss America Pageant System as an emcee, chaperon and judge. Her daughter Tammy- Jo  was involved in pageants all over United States  since 6 months of age and Tammy-Jo has  appeared  in many commercials, movies, catalogs and fashion shows. After much travelling  Joanne began her own pageant system with the help of  Miss Bonnie  Western New York State Director for Miss Americ , Bonnie’s two daughters were both Miss New York State and both went on to compete in  Miss America.  Joanne has also been a scout for many Talent agents and hundreds of our contestants have gone on to do paid tv commercial work just by being on our stage or entering one of our photo contests. Our goal is  to help aspiring youngsters launch their careers in modeling, photography, acting or film. Now after many years of pageantry Joanne is now mentoring other Pageant Directors across Canada, their pageants are under the Umbrella of All Canadian and have the same philosophy and beliefs as when we first started.

There have been other pageants that have cropped up here and there but we are the only ones to stand the test of time- we believe we have been so successful because  we care about your children and believe they are all stars and they are all special.  We also believe in giving back and teach our contestants to do kind things towards others and to earn their pageant angel wings by doing something in their own community to help others not as fortunate.

Joanne was the owner and model coach of her own modeling school and talent agency that to this date has  successfully placed hundreds of people of all ages, babies to seniors, in magazines, catalogs, billboards, brochures as well as commercials, motion pictures, T.V. Shows and she has promoted singers and dancers in the entertainment industry.  Joanne also  hosted a TV talk  show for 6 years and produced her own talent  show for TV  as well . Now Joanne works closely with a well known Toronto agent who has successfully placed many of the pageant contestants in tv shows, commercials, movies, print ads, etc. Always scouting and watching how you improve at each pageant. Who knows -YOU could be next !!

Yes, you too can be our next star by participating in the next upcoming pageant or being featured in our yearly program book of stars  or by entering the monthly photo contests.  Just by stepping on our stage you could be discovered  either through  agents spotting talent and signing them to their agency or scouts for advertising agencies or companies contacting us directly to book someone -we have had babies, children teens and adults appear in movies, t.v. series, commercials, catalogue and printwork for companies such as Honda, Kellogg’s, Fisher Price, Shell, BMO, Campbell’s Soup, Kleenex, Pampers, Huggies, Luvs, Johnson & Johnson, Dove, Sony, Ramada Hotel, Renaissance Hotel, Holiday Inn, Sheraton, Hilton, Skylon Tower, Sears, The Bay, Zeller’s, K-Mart, Steinmart, Babies R US , Canadian Tire, Dupont, Roots, Celine Dion Perfume, Hakim Optical, Seventeen , Rimmel Makeup, Crest, Hawaiian Tropic, Nutella,  and the list goes on and on. Our contestants have appeared on Billboards, Brochures, Magazines, Radio Stations,Local T.V. shows, they have starred in paid fashion shows and donated their time in charity fashion shows, they have helped in political events, grand openings, and parades. They have entertained on t.v.  at local senior homes and special events. Through the pageant they have met celebrities and political figures. At each and every event they attend their self esteem and confidence grows and as parents I believe the best gift we can give a child is self esteem , self confidence and memories of giving to those less fortunate which is why we commit to at least one fundraiser each  year but we sometimes do many more.

Joanne’s daughter Tammy-Jo Starr has been competing in pageants since 6 months old and the two have traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States enjoying different pageants and filling up the family room with over 500 trophies, titles and crowns. Tammy-Jo has also appeared in catalogues, magazines, billboards, pageant books as well as commercials, TV, movies & fashion shows and is now a successful business women herself with her own company. She has worked with many celebrities in movies and T.V. commercials.  She won speaking awards and has wonderful people skills in her job thanks to the confidence she gained through pageantry. Tammy – Jo appeared in Sears catalog and Eaton’s front cover  (way back when-lol)

For years, Joanne’s son J.J. played the music and handled all the lighting and sound and was a professional D.J. in Toronto and the Niagara area known as DJASIX. J.J. entered his first pageant at 6 months and won and did a magazine article for baseball and appeared in a Sears catalog. He is now the owner of his own Construction business Superior Interiors.

Our Goal:

This is not just a pageant but consider it a chance to audition as we are always looking for new faces. Height & weight is not a concern at our events, we are looking for desire and personality. The aim of the Mr. & Miss All-Canadian Baby, Kid & Teen search is to enhance the social growth of youth today. Our goal is to allow each and every contestant a chance to shine on our stage and they are made to feel like a star during their time in the spotlight.

We believe the greatest gift you can give your child is self-esteem and self-confidence. In our books, you are a winner the minute you step on our stage. By simply participating we know you will be taking something positive away with you by this experience.

Everyone is special just the way they are. We encourage you to just be yourself. If this is your first pageant – no experience is necessary. We hope you have fun, make new friends and bring home some memories to share with your friends and family for years to come. You will be proud of yourself just for stepping on stage and introducing yourself- Many of  our contestants have gone on to win their school speaking award thanks to the opportunity to step on our stage and get comfortable and realized it’s not that scary after all .

We also believe in giving back – throughout the years Joanne has organized many fashions shows with the proceeds going to various charities, with her work as a co host on daytime tv Joanne has selected contestants to help her at various political events, and fund raisers – Joanne has organized Entertainment evenings at seniors homes with pageant contestants that have participated in talent. We have helped charities such as Help A Child Smile- Breast Cancer- Cancer Foundation- Alzheimer’s – Dreams Take Flight- Matthew Danielle Foundation- Project S.H.A.R.E- Humane Society- HATS-Sick Kids Hospital – Toronto, Toy Mountain, Salvation Army, just to name a few over the 34 years- This year we donated to C.N.E.T.  . Joanne will also be sending some rhinestone tiaras and selecting a few contestants to hand out to some children who will be in the hospital during Christmas- Please feel free to help us out in any way you can- thankyou– It is only possible when we all work together!
